Our Story
Coaching Goats helps educate and train golfers of all skill levels by combining instructional learning videos, in-person lessons, online lessons, and practical training tools. In addition, players in high school looking to continue their golfing career in college benefit from our College Profile service. This is created from real-world experience in coaching players to prepare for collegiate golf, analyzing swings, communicating with college coaches, developing player profiles, compiling tournament statistics, and building highlight videos. This services helps students get organized toward their goal of playing golf in college. Our students have received scholarships at NCAA Division’s I and II schools. Lonnie McMinn
Lonnie, founder of Coaching Goats, has been teaching and coaching golf for 10+ years. He leads the Coaching Goats online academy and in addition, travels the US as a Certified Instructor for the Single Plane Academy. Prior to teaching professionally, Lonnie played competitively as an amateur winning multiple tournaments on the Amateur Players Tour. His passion for helping players improve and enjoy the game is seen in every student interaction.
Walt Siemsglusz
Walt is a PGA Master Professional with 40+ years in the golf industry. Walt has been selected twice to Golf Digest’s Best Teachers of the Year for Missouri, qualified for the National PGA Club Professional Championship twice and the Senior Club Professional Championship. Walt’s ability to connect with students, his experience, and his teaching knowledge are very rare to find. Walt’s lessons are scheduled in person at Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Illinois.
Mikal Guffey
Mikal is the Director of Golf for the Mckendree University men’s and women’s golf programs. As a teacher, Mikal has instructed players of all levels, high school, collegiate, and professional to work on their skills and improve every time they step on the tee. Mikal’s lessons are scheduled in person at Stonewolf Golf Club in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
